Cullen Jewellery, a Melbourne-based company, is expanding with new stores opening both in Australia and internationally.
Domestic and International Expansion
Cullen Jewellery plans to open six new stores by the end of the year. These new locations include Adelaide and Sydney within Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand; San Francisco, USA; Toronto, Canada; and London, UK. This expansion follows the establishment of four showrooms across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth since the company opened its first physical store in 2019.
Introduction of Lab-Made Sapphires
The company has introduced a new range of lab-made sapphires. These sapphires are available in various hues, including Kashmir Blue, Flamingo Pink, and Royal Purple, and come in different shapes and sizes. Jordan Cullen, founder of Cullen Jewellery, stated, “With recent advances in production, we believe the brilliance and colour now match our expectation of excellence for all our products.” He also noted the company’s focus on bridal, moissanite, and lab-grown diamond jewellery: “As the industry continues to look to us for bridal, moissanite, and lab-grown diamond jewellery standards, we’re excited to bring this opportunity to our clients.”
Industry Implications
Established in 2018, Cullen Jewellery produces fine jewellery using lab-grown diamonds, moissanite, and now, lab-grown sapphires. The company’s expansion and new product offerings indicate a growing consumer interest in sustainable and ethical jewellery.
This expansion reflects a shift in the market, as more consumers and jewellers consider lab-grown alternatives for their quality and ethical sourcing. Jewellers may find new opportunities to diversify their offerings and attract a broader customer base with these advancements in lab-grown gemstone quality.
