Harlin Jones Fine Jewellery, a New York-based jeweller, has opened a new studio in Sydney’s heritage-listed Trust Building. This move marks the brand’s first expansion outside of New York and highlights its ambition to establish a presence in the Australian market.

    Showcasing Signature Collections

The Sydney studio will feature Harlin Jones’ signature collections, including engagement rings, wedding bands, and statement pieces. Known for their craftsmanship and unique designs, these collections have a dedicated following in New York and are expected to attract similar clientele in Sydney.

    Customisation Services

In addition to showcasing their signature pieces, Harlin Jones offers bespoke jewellery services at the new studio. Clients can collaborate with the brand’s staff to design custom jewellery tailored to their preferences. This personalised approach aims to provide customers with a unique shopping experience.

    Founder’s Vision and Background

Harlin Jones was founded by Australian designer Sumer Sayan. Sayan began his jewellery career with an international internship in Istanbul, Turkey, in 1998, where he learned the fundamentals of handcrafting jewellery from master jewellers. After returning to Sydney, he completed a four-year jewellery design apprenticeship, where his passion for design flourished.

Sayan’s eclectic mix of styles and inspirations draws from diverse sources, including graffiti and tattoo art, the 80s New York art scene, architecture, and various global cultures. This unique blend is reflected in the innovative and distinctive pieces created by Harlin Jones.

“The new space allows us to connect more intimately with our local clients, offering them a dedicated environment to discover and create their perfect pieces,” said Sayan. He also emphasized the value of bringing the brand’s expertise and network from New York to Sydney, describing New York as “the mecca of fine jewellery.”
