Cartier has opened its first standalone boutique in Perth, marking the brand’s continued expansion in Australia. The 300sqm store, located at 307 Murray Street, joins other high-end brands such as Tiffany & Co. and Van Cleef & Arpels in Perth’s luxury retail district.
The boutique will offer Cartier’s well-known jewellery and watch collections, along with a selection of leather goods, fragrances, and accessories.
Cartier’s Expansion Strategy
Cartier’s entry into Perth reflects its strategy to broaden its Australian presence. Thomas Crye, Cartier’s managing director for Oceania, noted that the boutique would offer Western Australian customers more convenient access to the brand’s products, as many had previously travelled to Sydney or Melbourne to shop in-store.
“To date, Western Australian clients travel to Sydney or Melbourne to visit us, and we want to create a stronger connection with them in-person, right in their home city, offering a memorable local experience,” Crye told The West Australian.
The Perth boutique is part of Cartier’s approach of aiming to create an inviting environment that reflects the location, as Crye explained: “We conceive our boutiques as living spaces, designed to provide the best experience to our clients, where they can celebrate key moments in their lives.”
Perth’s Expanding Luxury Market
The opening of Cartier’s Perth boutique signals the growing importance of Western Australia as a luxury market. Other well-known jewellers, including Tiffany & Co. and Van Cleef & Arpels, have already established themselves in Perth, contributing to a thriving high-end retail environment.
Perth’s Lord Mayor, Basil Zempilas, welcomed Cartier’s arrival, emphasising the confidence it shows in the city’s retail prospects. “The opening is yet another sign of the enormous confidence and belief in our City,” Zempilas said.
