Searay has been appointed distributor for Yehuda’s Sherlock Holmes and Watson AI diamond detection systems in Australia and New Zealand.
The agreement will see Searay promote, demonstrate and support Yehuda’s diamond screening technology across both markets. The systems are designed to help users identify natural diamonds, laboratory-grown diamonds and diamond simulants.
Detection Technology
Yehuda said it has sold more than 16,000 diamond detectors globally. Its product range includes the Watson AI and Sherlock AI systems, which are intended for use by jewellers, laboratories, dealers and manufacturers screening loose and mounted stones.
According to Yehuda, the Sherlock Holmes AI platform uses proprietary lighting, imaging and artificial intelligence technology to classify stones including natural diamonds, chemical vapour deposition (CVD) diamonds, high pressure high temperature (HPHT) diamonds, cubic zirconia (CZ) and moissanite.
The company also said its patent-pending CZ detection technology can cause cubic zirconia stones to display a pink fluorescence, supporting identification of loose and mounted CZ stones, including stones as small as 0.01 carats.
The system provides visual screening results and colour-coded AI guidance to support the identification process.
Industry Response
Ron Loccisano, director of Searay, said: “We are excited to bring Yehuda’s Sherlock Holmes technology to the Australian and New Zealand market.
“As the jewelry industry continues to face growing challenges from lab-grown diamonds and simulants, Australian and New Zealand jewelers need reliable tools they can trust. Yehuda has been a respected name in this field for many years, and we are proud to represent the brand in Australia and New Zealand.”
Dror Yehuda, president of Yehuda Diamond Company, added: “We are very pleased to appoint Searay as our distributor in Australia and New Zealand.
“Australia and New Zealand are important markets, and we believe Searay’s strong industry relationships and local presence will help bring Yehuda’s latest AI detection technology to jewelers across the country.”
